The Department of Global Public Health is a multidisciplinary department with the aim to advance knowledge about challenges and opportunities for public health in a local, national, and global setting. Many researchers at the department are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision makers at regional, national, and international levels. The department is responsible for three international master's programs, and the researchers are actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The department has 12 research groups, around 120 PhD students and about 140 employees.
This position is placed in the PRIME Health research group (Prevention, Intervention and Mechanisms in Public Health). The group's research broadly spans the interrelated areas of climate extremes, physical inactivity and cardiometabolic risk factors, and maternal and child health.
We are seeking a full-time Research Assistant for a 12-month fixed-term position, with a start date as soon as possible. In this role, you will contribute to the management and analysis of large-scale public health data, working with a range of unique data sources including sensor data, survey data, and health register data.
As part of our team, you will contribute to the development of new knowledge that can inform evidence-based public health interventions aimed at preventing physical inactivity and promoting reproductive and child health. Your responsibilities will include developing statistical models and programming solutions and supporting the preparation and coordination of competitive research proposals as well as other forms of scientific writing.
