Applications are invited for a full-time Innovation Research Associate position to work with Professor Helen Wilson. This Innovation Research Associate (InRA) position will contribute to research carried out within the newly established EPSRC Network Plus Scale Up Mathematics for Formulated Products (SUM4Products). As part of the role, the InRA is expected to collaborate and develop links with industrial partners.

The responsibilities of the post will include:

1. Undertaking research related to mathematical modelling of formulated products. This will entail both independent research work and working in collaboration with other researchers within the SUM4Products network. The successful candidate will proactively engage with collaborating researchers, including from new and existing industry partners, to identify fruitful lines of research (60% of time)
2. Dissemination of research findings through internal reports, conference proceedings, and journal publications (15% of time)
3. Liaison with and support of colleagues within the SUM4Products network, possibly including domestic and international travel and support of meetings at UCL and our collaborators (10% of time)
4. Developing plans for personal research and contribute to wider development of SUM4Products network strategy to identify and agree priorities for current and future work (5% of time)
5. Contributing to writing bids to win ongoing research grants. Providing guidance to other staff and students interested in integrating methods/results from this work into their own activity to ensure most effective use, particularly within UCL, the SUM4Products network and with our external collaborators (10% of time)

This post is available from 1st August 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter for approximately 24 months in the first instance due to funding restrictions.

Salary will be UCL Grade 7 point 31-32 £45,103 – £46,261 (annum inclusive of London Allowance).
