Your next career opportunity You will lead clinical diagnostic implementation studies that improve STI detection and care in real-world settings. You will design and deliver multi-site trials, engaging clinicians, laboratories and health services across Australia and internationally. You will gain mentoring within a collaborative team, building a strong track record in translational infectious diseases research.

What you will deliver:

• Lead design and delivery of diagnostic implementation studies, including multi-site STI point-of-care trial expansion and monitoring.
• Develop study protocols, ethics submissions and regulatory documentation, ensuring compliance and robust governance across all projects.
• Coordinate participant recruitment, data collection and qualitative and quantitative analysis with clinical and laboratory collaborators.
• Train and support site staff in research procedures and diagnostic testing, providing remote oversight of study conduct.
• Mentor students and junior researchers, contribute to manuscripts and presentations, and participate actively in laboratory meetings.

You may be a great fit if:

• Hold a PhD in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience in implementation or infectious diseases research.
• Bring experience co-designing and delivering research with health services, diagnostic laboratories, clinicians and consumers.
• Demonstrate expertise implementing medical technologies, ideally diagnostics, within complex multi-stakeholder clinical and laboratory environments.
• Possess a strong track record in clinical research, including ethics applications, data management and mixed-methods analysis.
• Excel at managing competing priorities while mentoring junior colleagues and maintaining meticulous project documentation and records.
• Commit to high scientific and ethical standards and to building effective collaborations with diverse external partners.

Our team brings together clinician-scientists, basic scientists, epidemiologists, and public health professionals. We focus on antimicrobial resistance, sexually transmissible infections, HIV, and emerging infections.
