Scientist, ADC In Vivo Pharmacology Full-time NEW

Scientist Position

Pfizer is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join the In Vivo Pharmacology group within the Oncology Research Unit, with a focus on antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) programs, but including other large molecule and small molecule programs. This role supports the execution of high-quality in vivo efficacy, pharmacodynamic, tolerability, and mechanistic studies that enable preclinical discovery and development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical capability in oncology animal models, careful attention to study details, and a commitment to animal welfare, compliance, and scientific rigor. The scientist is expected to contribute as a reliable technical and scientific team member while developing increasing independence in study execution, data interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Position Responsibilities

• Execute in vivo oncology studies supporting discovery programs using a variety of in vivo models including human cell line- derived, patient-derived xenograft, syngeneic models as appropriate.
• Perform routine and advanced in vivo procedures, including tumor measurements, body weight monitoring, test article administration (IV, PO, subQ, IP dosing), clinical observations, and sample collection.
• Perform routine in vitro tissue culture procedures
• Support pharmacology studies assessing efficacy, tolerability, pharmacodynamic biomarkers, dose-response relationships, schedule optimization, and combination strategies.
• Prepare, review, and follow study protocols, dosing schedules, randomization plans, and sample collection timelines in alignment with project goals and internal standards.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant study records using electronic data capture systems and approved documentation practices.
• Coordinate with project line leads, vivarium operations, pathology, toxicology translational scientists, bioanalytical, pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic teams, and external partners to enable efficient study execution.
• Assist with data quality review, graphical summaries, and interpretation of in vivo study results.
• Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with IACUC protocols, animal welfare expectations, biosafety requirements, and Pfizer internal policies.

Minimum Qualifications / Key Skills

• Bachelor's degree in biology, pharmacology, animal science, cancer biology, or a related discipline with relevant research experience.
• Hands-on experience conducting rodent in vivo studies in an academic, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or contract research setting.
• Demonstrated proficiency with tumor implantation, tumor measurement, animal monitoring, dosing (IV, PO, subQ, IP), sample collection, and study documentation.
• Working knowledge of oncology pharmacology concepts, including tumor growth inhibition, response assessment, dose scheduling, tolerability, and pharmacodynamic endpoint collection.
• Ability to follow protocols precisely, recognize technical or animal welfare concerns, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage study activities across multiple concurrent programs.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed scientific environment.
• Application of technical expertise to moderately complex procedures and contribution to troubleshooting under guidance from senior scientists or in vivo study leads.
• Accountability for assigned study activities and contribution to team goals, timelines, and quality expectations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting ADC, targeted therapy, immuno-oncology, or combination oncology programs.
• Familiarity with ADC-specific pharmacology considerations such as payload potency, linker stability, antigen expression, exposure-response relationships, and tolerability liabilities.
• Experience with ex vivo tissue processing, biomarker sample collection, necropsy, flow cytometry sample preparation, or molecular endpoint workflows.
• Experience with ex vivo/ in vitro method execution, eg flow cytometry, cell line assays, molecular biological and biochemical procedures
• Familiarity with electronic data systems such as Studylog or similar in vivo study management platforms.
• AALAS certification or equivalent training in animal care and use.
