An experienced candidate with a MSc or PhD with extensive laboratory based experience is sought for the post of Senior Laboratory Manager within the Division of Surgery and Interventional Science.
The candidate must have a proven track-record in cell culture, biomaterials characterisation/analysis, as well as, management experience working within a laboratory based environment. Expertise in tissue and cell culture and/or biomaterials characterisation including the use of specialised equipment (e.g. Electron microscopy, mechanical testing, contact angle, ATR-FTIR) is required. A good working knowledge of cell culture and immunohistochemistry would be highly advantageous.

The successful candidate must hold a Degree in relevant subject area, although candidates with considerable experience will be considered.
Experience of using your detailed knowledge of Health & Safety policy and procedure in a laboratory setting to manage risks and ensure compliance with current legislation
Proven experience in laboratory management in a scientific or biomedical environment.
Record of successful line management and development of staff with proven team leadership and motivational skills.
Experience in teaching and supervision of students would be advantageous.
