Senior Lecturer In Dental Public Health And Oral Epidemiology

This is an exciting internal opportunity for a Senior Lecturer to focus their efforts on leveraging an established record of achievement in teaching Dental Public Health and Oral Epidemiology, alongside a strong contribution to research, service and engagement. Working within a collaborative and purpose-driven academic environment, the role contributes to UQ's ambition to create change together through impactful education, research translation and community partnership. This appointment also plays a leadership role, coordinating and guiding colleagues while supervising Higher Degree by Research candidates to successful completion. Recent UQ research advances in dentistry, including innovations in jaw reconstruction that demonstrate the University's translational impact, further underscore the dynamic and forward-looking context in which this role operates.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrating an established and effective contribution to teaching in Dental Public Health and Oral Epidemiology across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
• Making original contributions that expand knowledge or professional practice in the discipline through curriculum innovation, research and engagement.
• Coordinating and leading significant aspects of academic programs, including course coordination, curriculum design and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Providing academic leadership through research supervision, mentoring, service and engagement activities aligned with UQ values.

This is a part time (60%), continuing position at Academic Level C (Senior Lecturer).

You will bring a strong, well-rounded academic profile and a commitment to excellence, including:

• Completion of a PhD in Dental Public Health or Oral Epidemiology.
• An established profile in teaching and research within Dental Public Health or Oral Epidemiology.
• National recognition in your area of expertise, with an internationally developing profile and an established record of publications in reputed refereed journals and conference presentations.
• A strong record of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding.
• Evidence of high-quality teaching at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels across a variety of settings.
• A strong track record of course coordination and contribution to curriculum development and innovation.
• A solid record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.
• A growing record of meaningful internal service roles alongside strong engagement in external professional and community activities.
