As a Sr. Scientist at Illumina, you will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment to play an integral role in developing new sequencing technologies. Using your electrochemistry expertise, in a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate with external and internal partners to push the frontiers of electrochemistry in the development of exciting state-of-the-art technology.
Based at our Headquarters in San Diego we require a Sr. Scientist to join our Advanced Science department as an Electrochemistry expert in a permanent role.
As part of the Material and Applied Surface Science group, you will play an integral role in developing new sequencing technologies and related applications. As the company moves fast so does the technology we use, the candidate will have to be adaptable to a wide range of techniques and methods used in life-sciences.
Responsibilities
Keep detailed lab notebooks, prepare reports, updates, and summaries for managers and team. Write technical reports and prepare presentations for cross functional and cross-site technical teams.

Education and Experience
The estimated base salary range for the Sr. Scientist – Electrochemist role based in the United States of America is: $98,400 – $147,600. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long‑term growth in the role. Most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
