A position is available for a Staff Scientist in the Clemens Lab, studying how ion channels regulate immune cell function during inflammation and infection. In particular, we study how calcium signals mediated by store-operated calcium entry are regulated during neutrophil development and disease, and also how crosstalk with other host or pathogen derived ion channels modulates these pathways. We use mouse models and primary human cells to query immune function in vitro and in vivo. Core experimental techniques include mouse disease models, in vitro functional assays, flow cytometry, high dimensional data acquisition and analysis and confocal and/or intravital microscopy. Designs research protocols. Assists in developing and conducting research projects, including experiment design, data analysis and documentation of experiment results.
