Postdoctoral Fellowship in Plant Developmental Evolutionary Genetics Full-time
The Genetics of Plant Form and Evolutionary Change group in the Department of Plant Biology at SLU, Uppsala is seeking an outstanding candidate for a two-year Carl Trygger-funded postdoctoral fellowship (tax-free stipendium) focused on plant developmental plasticity, evolution, and climate adaptation.
Research project
How do plants integrate environmental information to alter their growth and form?
This project investigates the genetic and developmental mechanisms underlying phenotypic plasticity – the ability of organisms to produce different traits in response to environmental conditions. Focusing on environmentally responsive traits such as plant architecture, leaf form, and reproductive development, the project addresses fundamental questions at the interface of development, evolution and environmental response, with implications for climate resilience and sustainable agriculture.
Using genetic, molecular, developmental and quantitative approaches, the postdoctoral researcher will contribute to uncovering how plants translate environmental signals into adaptive form.

Qualifications
We seek candidates with a PhD in areas such as:
• Plant developmental biology
• Plant genetics / genomics
• Evolutionary biology
Experience in molecular genetics, imaging, genomics or quantitative approaches is particularly welcome.
