We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Dr Carol Leung's research group at the Oxford Centre for Immuno-Oncology. The group focuses on developing novel cancer immunotherapies, particularly cancer vaccines that stimulate the immune system to recognise and eliminate tumour cells.
You will be working within a collaborative and dynamic environment, contributing to cutting-edge translational research using in vivo tumour models alongside a range of immunological and molecular biology techniques, including T cell assays, multicolour flow cytometry (FACS), ELISA, PCR, and Western blotting. You will also manage your own research activities, analysing complex data, and refining experimental approaches, while also contributing to new research ideas and funding applications. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues across research groups and external partners, as well as contributing to scientific publications and presentations.
It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in Biological Science, Biomedical Science, Immunology, or a related field, and will have experience in immunological techniques and in vivo tumour models, alongside strong organisational, analytical and communication skills. Experience in cancer vaccine research, bioinformatics, or supervising junior researchers would be advantageous.
Applications for this vacancy should be made online and you will need to upload a supporting statement and CV. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience. Please restrict your documentation to your CV and supporting statement only. Any other documents will be requested at a later date.
This position is offered full time on a fixed term contract for 2 years and is funded by the Academy of Medical Science Springboard Award. Only applications received before 12 midday on Tuesday 2 June 2026 will be considered. Please quote 186093 on all correspondence.
