The Department of Global Public Health at Karolinska Institutet conducts high-impact research to improve health and health equity worldwide. Our work spans across various disciplines and regions, and our research focuses on some of the most pressing public health challenges, including sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), adolescent health, health promotion and prevention.

We are currently looking for dedicated and highly organized Research Assistants to support the development of several major international and national grant proposals and related tasks in global public health, with focus on SRHR and/or adolescent health. These positions offer a unique opportunity to work with experienced and diverse teams of researchers and contribute to large-scale, collaborative research initiatives.

The employment is for one-year, full-time position. Expected start date: as soon as possible.

Your Mission

You will support the preparation and coordination of competitive research proposals in SRHR and/or adolescent health, health promotion and prevention. This includes scientific writing, developing grant applications to regional, national and international funding sources to support our research and coordinating international partners, compiling and synthesizing relevant background material, and assisting with project planning. You will work closely with both junior and senior multidisciplinary researchers and project teams and contribute to the overall strategic development of research activities within the group.

Your Profile

We are looking for candidates with strong academic and organizational skills, who are motivated and collaborative.

You must have:

• A Master's degree (or higher) in public health, global health, or a related field
• Fluent skills in English (written and spoken)
• Basic understanding of research project management (timelines, milestones, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience in scientific writing, ideally related to grant applications or peer-reviewed publications
• Experience of conducting literature reviews on large volumes of information and synthesize findings
• Ability to collaborate and coordinate with staff within finance, administration and multi-disciplinary international teams where the working language often is English

Meritorious qualifications:

• Knowledge of funders' guidelines (e.g. the EU, national bodies, private foundations), experience of project coordination or research administration
• Knowledge of the Swedish research context and/or Karolinska Institutet
• Swedish language skills, written and spoken
• Experience working with areas related to SRHR and adolescent health
