Research Assistant Technical (ARIADNE)

The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.

This is an exciting opportunity for a research assistant to become a member of the Design Bioethics Lab (DBL) led by Dr Kathryn Francis. You will support the project to develop a novel research method for identifying and analysing ethical issues in child and adolescent psychosis risk prediction.

About the Role

The post is funded for 18 months and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. You will take a leading role in the day-to-day administration of DBL procedures, including taking and disseminating minutes, making appointments; maintain Gantt charts, website, and digital folders; support research ethics and governance documentation. You will undertake comprehensive and systematic literature reviews and write up the results for publication in peer-reviewed journals or for presentation at conferences or public meetings.

About You

You will hold a first degree in psychology, computer science, bioethics or a relevant empirical social or cognitive science discipline. You will have demonstrated experience of using quantitative research methods and analyses in psychology, computer science, bioethics, or a relevant social or cognitive science discipline. Master's degree in psychology, computer science, bioethics or a relevant empirical social or cognitive science discipline is desirable.
