As an R&D Scientist in our NGS Library Preparation and Target Enrichment team, you will be a key player in executing sample preparation workflows. You will work within a dynamic environment dedicated to advancing molecular biology research and contributing to innovative development efforts. The Opportunity

• Execute NGS library preparation from diverse sample types using various construction methods.
• Perform DNA and RNA extraction from biological samples, optimizing protocols for high yield and purity.
• Quantify nucleic acids accurately using instruments like Qubit and NanoDrop.
• Operate and troubleshoot sequencing platforms for routine laboratory runs.
• Conduct quality control for nucleic acids and libraries utilizing Agilent TapeStation.
• Maintain precise experimental records in laboratory notebooks and digital formats.
• Analyze experimental data to contribute to technical reports and team presentations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members on experimental design and troubleshooting.

Who you are

• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• You possess 2-4 years of relevant laboratory experience, ideally within an industry setting.
• You have hands-on experience with NGS library preparation protocols such as DNA-seq or RNA-seq.
• You are proficient in PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and standard molecular biology techniques.
• You demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Experience with advanced DNA QC instruments like Tapestation and Nanodrop.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet project timelines.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Pleasanton is 68,900.00 – 106,000.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
