The UCL Department of Geography is seeking to appoint a one-year fixed term Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in Environmental GIS and Modelling at 0.5FTE from September 2026. The position will support teaching across the department, with a strong focus on Environmental GIS and Modelling. The Department encourages applications from those trained in relevant aspects of environmental science, environmental modelling, earth observation and geospatial analysis, with an aptitude for teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels and the ability to undertake tutorial support across our first-year curriculum. The funding end date is 31st August 2027. The salary range for this position is Grade 7, SP 33-37: £47,451 – £52,586 per annum, pro-rata (including London Allowance). Candidates must hold a PhD in a relevant discipline by the time they begin their appointment and demonstrate expertise in the areas to be taught. Applicants must demonstrate an aptitude for teaching and developing Geography modules at both undergraduate and graduate levels and be committed to fostering a positive learning environment for students. Excellent presentation and teaching communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively and to deadlines is essential.
