Description of the workplace The Regenerative Immunology research team at the Department of Laboratory Medicine within the Faculty of Medicine currently conducts research in innate tumor resistance mechanisms of newts and its relationship to their regenerative capacity. At present, the research team is working on the to understand the limits of newts tumor resistance and the shared and divergent mechanisms between regenerative and tumor tissue. You can read more about the project on our website www.leighnd.github.io. The research team is led by Senior Lecturer Nicholas Leigh and includes a further seven staff members. The group is international and comprises students, postdocs, and technical staff. We are now looking for a driven and experienced researcher in cancer and regenerative biology to support the project. Work duties and areas of responsibility The research assignment consists of you independently conducting an analysis of regenerative events and genotoxic stress responses, under the leadership of the project manager. The analysis includes newt caretaking, bioinformatics, and common molecular biology techniques. The work duties also comprise of giving oral presentations, generating figures, drafting manuscripts, and mentoring junior scientists.

Further information The employment is for a fixed term of 12 months at 100 percent of full time, to start as soon as possible or according to agreement.
